Since leaving Ohio I’ve lost track of the murder investigation in Southwestern Ohio where several members of the same family were killed in what was believed to be drug related. Did the authorities ever arrest those responsible?

Last thing I heard is that they are suspecting that it’s a Mexican cartel hit job, you could google “Rhoden family murders” and there should be a lot more information than you can get here.

No arrests in the murders of the eight Rhoden family members. The attorney general had stated more than a year ago that his “Lazer focus” was on a family that had moved from the Piketon area to Alaska. He was asking the public for information about the four Wagner family members. One of them, Jake, had been involved in a custody dispute with Hanna Rhoden, one of the victims. Jake and Hanna had a two or three year old daughter.

When in doubt, blame scary Mexicans . It's the 21st century version of blame a black.

The murders were similar to what is going on south of the border. Brutal killings of a family that was known to be involved in marijuana production. Not condemning the family for growing pot, but if you're a drug cartel, you might not like the competition.

It is amazing to me that a family of 4 adults could plan such a crime and then carry it out. Sounds like 4 more on death row.

The murders were committed over a custody dispute of a child, not marijuana.

Yes they arrested a family from Pike County on the murders. It ended up being essentially over a baby.

What a tragedy this has been. To think that these evil people could plot the murder of so many people over who gets custody of a little child is almost unthinkable. I know that area of Ohio, and lets just say there are families there who are best left alone, and the wise understand they should never cross them.

Sounds like the unfortunate family who was killed didn’t think they had anything to worry about in getting involved in a custody battle with the murderers. Maybe they thought/hoped they had the law on their side, but when you’re dealing with people who believe that THEY are the law, the real laws mean nothing.
