I currently live in Monticello, KY....a small town on the border of TN. I'm 21 and I've been here my whole life. Just a few weeks ago my boyfriend's aunt, who lives in Norwood, offered him a place to stay, and I've been invited.

I only have a few weeks to decide because he's leaving this week and I want just enough time to take care of business before I go, but I'd like to know what I'm getting myself into.

Here's some factors for me:
-I've never even traveled out of state so I don't know what any other place is like.
-I've never lived in a big city....I've never even drove in one.
-The rent will be free until we can find jobs. But how easy will that be?
-I only have $1000 saved right now. If I stretch it, can I buy food, gas, and necessities until I can get a job?
-I'm used to drug users. I don't have many friends. The houses I'm used to here can be considered far from nice. With that in mind, could Norwood be worse?
-I only have a high school diploma. I went to college for 2 years but have no degree from it.

I've always wanted out of my hometown and here's an opportunity. Are the risks worth it?

you'll want to check out the Cincinnati forum.

Norwood is essentially in the center of the I-275 circle, and very urban, so it sounds like you may be in for a culture shock. You'll find prices to be pretty affordable, but likely more than Monticello. Rents are cheap.

Sounds like the only risk is leaving home? I hope you're pretty dedicated to you BF & vice versa, because if you break up, you may get homesick quickly without nearby relatives.
