Over 26,000 Ohio voters were purged from voter rolls last month due to inactivity by the Ohio Secretary of State.

NBC affiliate WCMH reports that while Secretary of State Frank LaRose hasn't announced the canceled voter registrations, the office's website has updated its database of of purged voters. To see if your voter registration has been canceled, click here.

Voters purged from the rolls can re-register to vote on the Secretary of State website. Those who were removed in September who did not register before Oct. 10 cannot vote in the Nov. 7 election.

As of Sept. 29, 26,666 voters were purged in the most recent cycle, according to the database. Of those voters, 3,018 were purged from the Hamilton County voter rolls.
Be sure to check if you're still registered to vote!

Be sure to check if you're still registered to vote!
Those that were purged did not cast a single ballot or respond to any of the mailed notices from elections officials over the last four-year period.

That means in the past four years, those purged did not vote in August for the Supermajority issue, they failed to vote in any of the primaries and in the 2020 general election, they failed to submit an absentee ballot application in any of the election opportunities. Even if they didn't vote at all for whatever reason why, if they had simply updated their address or got a license renewal with the BMV, their voter registration would be considered active.

But be sure to check your voter eligibility ... now?? NOW?? Literally, who is that much of a civic zombie to sleepwalk the past four years without even bothering to vote on anything or even bother to keep themselves registered? These have been some of the most important and busiest years in our voting history, and so to come out of your cave NOW is a joke.

I agree with the above points, but why would they purge people this close to the election, where they would not be able to re-register for November?
