If anyone was curious, a sketch for the design of the monument has been unveiled.

Don't worry. Oklahoma doesn't have to accept that monument any more than Texas has to accept public monuments on its capitol grounds it does not want.

If nothing else were there, then I wouldn't support this. A Satanic monument alone (to me) would be an endorsement of one religion. However, because another religious monument is there, I feel all should be allowed if denominations are willing to put up private funds to build and maintain it. I believe it should be none or all, the former being easier to accommodate.

Default The Church Of Satan Was Created In San Francisco California

Put A Satanic Monuments up right beside Christian Monuments said the wise AA Christian , who cares in the end one belief is right and the other belief is wrong.

I will not believe in any Satanic Monument but I'm sure that you can find some that do.....and that theirs right as Tax Payers...America is a Post-Christian Nation.

Not really, Thomas Jefferson came up with his own version of the Bible. Jesus wasn't God in his.

A Founding Father's view of God - Los Angeles Times

Also some of the founding fathers were Catholic (though not many) and as you know (actually I am sure you don't) the Catholic Bible is not exactly the same as the Protestant Bible.

There is zero percent chance that you and I are saying the same thing. I had no idea there was an "ignorance" button, it must be right next to the "flood with stupid YouTube videos" button. You push both regularly.

I think they should allow monuments of all religions. All life styles, too. Rainbow flags and all. Then charge admission. Even have amusement park rides. And those big cinnamon rolls. A big free-for-all. What a way to increase revenue!

I agree. Except none of them should be located on publicly owned property. If you want a monument to your faith, buy a piece of land, erect your monument, maintain it using your dollars, and everyone can point at it as they drive by.

I am minded of the Juan de Onate memorial north of Espanola, NM. de Onate was a conquistador with a horrendous record of cruelty and despotism. One Pueblo (Sky City) resisted him for an extended siege and when he finally conquered it he cut off a foot of every man in the pueblo. The local pueblos (Santa Clara, Nambe, etc) fought to prevent the building of the monument. When they lost, part of the monument included a statue of de Onate on horseback. Itis amusing that they are having a hard time keeping the statues feet intact..........
