I will be driving a U-Haul with a car trailer from Portland Oregon to Sarasota Fl the end of April 2012. I am looking for routes that will keep me on the interstates if possible. I have gotten driving directions online and the directions are a mile long. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

You want short directions for a 3000+ mile trip? How about: Set your GPS destination to Sarasota and follow the instructions.

Larry's directions in April should work fine. Don't do it in the winter, however.

My fiancee made the drive from Oregon to West Palm Beach, FL in June of last year. She took the southern route, driving south to Los Angeles, then cutting across Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, etc.

A word of advice, do not stop anywhere in West Texas. If you can, drive from the New Mexico border and do your best to make it all the way to San Antonio and spend the night there.
