There are "horse people" all over Oregon. I even see horses kept amongst regular neighborhoods here in the suburbs where I live outside Portland. With such a vague question it's hard to know what kind of info you're looking for. If you explain a bit more you may get more responses.

As for info on S.O. "horse people" the Jackson County Horseman's Association may be of help.

I'm moving down that way, I have researched Medford and Ashland. I can't really find "horse neighborhoods". In Portland you have Wilsonville, and in Bend, Tumalo where you will find some serious equestrian estates, horse breeding farms, competition venues, etc. You will find some large commercial stables down there, but not really neighborhoods where there is a lot of horse-keeping.

Someone else will have to fill you in on Grant's Pass and Klamath.

My general idea is that there are less serious horsemen due to less money, thus no real equestrian neighborhoods. There should be plenty of trail riding folks and western type riders for you to meet. Best of luck with your search, feel free to DM me.

I heard the weather is good in southern Oregon. I have been to Bend and there were small horse farms and larger ones. I did like Bend because you had the option to buy horse property if you wanted to head east a little bit.

Sisters / Bend seems to have more "horses per mile" of driving by (and the default classy white fences) than any other area I have driven by.

Driving by that area it seems there is horse farm after horse farm after horse farm. Other areas it is rural house, rural house, horse farm, rural house, sheep farm, rural house, grass farm, crops farm.
