I'm still trying to decide- Orlando or Jacksonville! I'm stuck! More feedback please . I've visited (and still planning more visits), and am gathering information for both areas. I enjoy reading pros and cons. Thanks!

We'd need to know a lot more about you and what you want in a city to give an opinion. Personally, I don't see the appeal of Jacksonville, but that's just me.

The only thing I can even begin to think of is if you like watching Naval aviation activity. Other than that there used to be a good Jazz festival, and that's about it.

My brother lives in Jacksonville and likes it. (but he's renting a high rise apt on the St. John's so that's a lot different than someone with kids who needs a house and yard) I visited up there in Feb. and there are a lot of nice restaurants and some neat places there. The J'ville metro is a lot bigger than Orlando. I saw the data somewhere recently and didn't know that J'ville was so big! Also, I a friend who lives just north of J'ville (St. John's county/ Fernandina Beach area) and she likes there as well. (but as I understand it, that area is pretty ritzy)

The Jacksonville metro is not bigger than Orlando, it's smaller by almost 1 million people. There are not nearly as many nice restaurants there either compared to Orlando. Also, the downtown is pretty derelict. The best things about Jacksonville are the nice suburbs, slower pace, and good schools. Some people will prefer it, but I much prefer Orlando.

Not much different from Orlando in that sense. We're not exactly a thriving metropolis and the average resident can't afford theme park entertainment on a regular basis.
