It's a section 8 ghetto (a very new, nice looking one) but it's still a ghetto.

If you are interested in the area, check out Heritage on Millenia right down the street - over by the Super Target. It's not too bad, is brand new, and does not accept section 8 applicants.

Keep in mind that you can rent a nice house in Winter Park or College Park for the same price as an apartment!

Holy cow! Glad I asked about that. So... let's put it this way... fiancee is native from NJ/NY and I'm a Native Floridian. I've lived in South Florida (P.B. Cty) my whole life. For the most part.. I can't complain too much about P.B. Cty but... we were looking a little more north with somewhere we could go listen to live music and such and figured the downtown Orlando area would be good for a single couple. Kids may come down the line though so I'd be looking for an area with the best schools as well... I've a relative that lives in Longwood and there's this very nice area around her that's chock full of Victorian style homes, unfortunately I can't remember the name of the town. I wouldn't want to move any further north within Florida than Orlando.. been to Ocala.. UGH... Leesburg.. EVEN WORSE! Thanks for the info.

Just be sure to check out the Orlando Sentinel and Craigslist before renting an apartment. I swear there are really cute bungalows in the areas I mentioned above for the same price as a 2 br apartment. The proximity to downtown and Winter Park would be nice too.

Good luck!
