Beware of Toll Plaza Expressway Authority Scam!!!!! Most of the exact change lanes don't work,(you pay and the collection machine says you didn't) You get mailed a ticket. A lot of people with EPass say they are over billed. The expressway authority only "mails" tickets out, not by signed certified mail. If your ticket is lost in the mail your license may get suspended without ever knowing. Make sure you go to a recipe lane only, get a recipe every time. Never try and fight a toll violation ticket you will always lose. If anyone else has Expressway Authority nightmares post them here...

That's pretty cool if they will give you a recipe each time you go through the toll booth. That can really build up your collection!

I drove from Miami to Orlando on the Turnpike and my Sunpass had just a little more than what the tolls would be so I decided to put it in the metallic container and pay the tolls in cash, well I ended up paying the tolls in cash and the money still came out of the Sunpass even with the Sunpass in the bag.Apparently if you go through a lane to pay cash and it says sunpass on it as well, a camera reads the license plate and takes the money out anyways.I like avoiding some long toll lines but I'm definitely not a big fan of these Sunpass/E pass programs, all the savings they advertise basically went out the window as they wouldn't refund the money either.

I spend about 80 bucks a month on the 408 and haven't had a problem with EPass. Plus, I get around $10 a month off my bill every month for being an Epass user. The expressway authority seems to be a pretty wasteful orginization, but the Epass has worked for me atleast.

Great info. I never thought to even look to see if they were taking out tolls when I was paying with cash. I personally love the Epass because of the convenience but I also pay in cash sometime so I don't run down my account to low.

I got a letter one time saying that I had gone through a toll (without my knowledge) without paying and if I did it again that month I would get a ticket. Did they stop giving you a "warning"?

If you travel on the Beach Line/Bee Line Expressway, its a huge scam. I dunno about the other highways but this one is one true rip off.
