If they do this; then they should make E-Pass and Sunpass compatible with E-Z Pass and other systems in the country.

If they do this they should be forced to buy back all the transpondres we've been forced to buy--in my case four of them.

And how will they handle tourists with no sticker if there are no manned booths? Or rentals for locals?

rentals will probably come with transponders on them and the cost of tolls will be included in the rent.

I don't see it working, and I'll explain why. Some people rent cars from agencies near where they live to drive to Florida to avoid putting the milage on their own car (or perhaps because they think the car won't make it.) I am not seeing Avis, Alamo, Budget, whoever putting one of these stickers on every car in their fleet.

I agree with you...and when we moved here, we drove our own cars from PA...how would we have paid our tolls?

By the way, they are only planning to give away, it would appear, 100,000 of the sticker type passes...looks like they will continue to charge in the future..it looks like a promotional gimmick.

Hey...in a state with 11.9% unemployment...why not let go the toll workers as well...when spiraling down the rabbithole...what is a few thousand more folks...right? Sickening....

I don't understand how Orlando doesn't have manned toll booths. In Miami the major ones are all manned but then again the local express authority there is vastly different than the one here in Orange county (i.e. not inept)

most of the toll booths in Orlando are manned--there are a few that are SunPass only, but they say so long before you get off the exit to get to them.

all mainline toll booths are manned here. Only the exit/entrance toll booths are not manned, they are all usually exact coins and e pass, very few of them if any are manned now a days.. It used to be common for them to be manned.

Sounds like the airlines and E-tickets and credit cards only for refreshments, movies, etc.
