I am curious if anyone has been to or can personally recommend any affordable waterfront hotels on the Atlantic, east coast of FL, not terribly far from Orlando, with its own fishing piers, dock or fishing areas or I guess if not its own then at least within very short walking distance of a pier or other fishing spot. Somewhere you actually catch fish. Even as far south as Ft. Pierce is fine. I found a few online but most seem to be hotels where people go as a base camp to launch their boats for fishing tournaments or boating weekends and says little or nothing about dock side fishing. The few I found had bad reviews of their accommodations. Anyone have personal experience or suggestions?

I don't fish, but the place I used to live, Sebastian, is well known for it. There's a hotel near Captain Hirams that would probably be a good bet. And of course you have the Disney resort in Vero Beach. I assume there are some other good places in Indian River county. But, being a local I'm not too familiar with the hotels.
