We're visiting Harry Potter park for the first time. We'd love to avoid tourist traps/chain type restaurants. Can you recommend something good in or near the park?

We love Mexican, Thai, Italian, bistro -- not picky! We'll have two 13 year olds w/ us so can't be too fancy!

Thanks!

Alley

Border Grill is basically across the street from Universal and has great Mexican food. It's a super casual hole in the wall.

Everything near the park is in the tourist areas. They have perfectly good food. Some really great food. Lose the "If tourists eat it, it cannot be good" idea you have and you might find out that it's not too bad.

No restaurant will ever be as good as what you make yourself, but you can have something tasty almost anywhere and certainly in the tourist areas. Brach out a little. Try the food st Universal. See what happens.
