Looking to talk to NYPD retirees who live in Orlando area. Would like your honest opinion and any suggestions you may have. Looking to move to Seminole County, moving in 2019 with my 14 year old twins.

I'm no where near retiree age, but my uncle (who's always been like my dad) is a retired Port Authority cop... He retired and then moved here. What exactly is your question? What are you looking for?

It won't take retired law enforcement to tell you about the good schools/good areas so will begin with some suggestions for you on that. The better schools are in Sanford, Oviedo, Winter Springs/Tuscawilla, Lake Mary/Heathrow and Longwood/Wekiva Springs in greatest concentrations. Given your kids are 14 years old and either entering high school or already started a couple of the better schools are probably out, as they're magnet programs and difficult to gain acceptance to minus the middle school feeder curriculum. That said the better options with that in consideration are going to be either Oviedo High School or Hagerty High School (also Oviedo). Lake Mary HS, Lake Brantley HS and Lake Howell HS are all in the top 25% in the state but are well below the top 10% performance of the Oviedo schools, which are traditional schools minus magnet programs.
