Just wondering if anyone here is among the brave and/or crazed who have checked out the newest addition to Disney's Hollywood Studios and wanted to give his or her assessment on it. I'd love to check it out myself in person, but I don't think I'll be able to do so this year, which might be a blessing if the crowds continue to be as big as they have been the past couple of days.

I was lucky enough to get in during the soft opening on Friday; rode Slinky Dog Dash but not the alien saucer ride. Slinky is a lot of fun- not an intense coaster by any means but I enjoyed it. The land’s theming is very cute and clever- lots of nostalgia with all the classic toys and games. It really is fun just to keep discovering new things. It looks like it’s going to be very busy for a while.. I can’t even imagine what kind of crowds Star Wars will bring in.

Was able to go the Friday night 6/29 soft open before the official opening date 6/30.The land is really cute and nicely themed,I rode the Slinky dog coaster that had a 2 hour posted wait time but it only took 1 hr 20 minutes,the Alien Saucer ride had a 1 hr 20 minute posted wait and it took me about 50 minutes.Toy Story mania has a new entrance,didnt have time to ride it or see the new queue but it looked nice.The counter service restaurant is pretty much a window serving grilled sandwiches and a few other items with outdoor seating.I think I left feeling a little bit how some people are reviewing the land,its a nice area but somehow they were expecting a little more,for example I think it could've used a bigger restaurant with maybe some indoor seating,the land overall I expected it to be a bit bigger,Slinky dog is the best thing in the land,definitely more than a kiddie coaster,the alien saucer ride is fun as it whips you around but I wouldnt wait more than 25-30 minutes for it in the future.I heard Disney lowered the budget on this land to use instead towards the Star Wars.Basically its a good addition to a park that needed a lot so I'll take it but many people expected maybe a bit more,and I somewhat agree.I do thank Disney that they at least opened it up the day before as my pass started the blackout on the 30th and luckily so as I heard the wait times were like 2-3 times what I waited for on Friday.
