Sedano's Supermarkets: Hispanic chain coming to Orlando -- OrlandoSentinel.com

I loved Albertsons for their meat prices (especially ground beef and chicken thighs, staples in my "get out of debt" diet), but now they are pretty much all gone now.

Yeah, that's where I buy all of meats. Most of my meats are $2.50/lb or less. They have quality meat too. I only buy sale items from them otherwise b/c it's too expensive. I hope they don't close by me.

I also love Albertson's meat prices! There is one Oveido (don't know how far that is for you....)

Have you tried Aldi's? Their meat is also good (it's all frozen tho, but everything I have tried there has been good) and they have a nice variety too. You can get fairly cheap turkey filet with bacon for an occasional treat.... We are working a get out of debt plan also...nearly there...so keep plugging OK!! PM if you need support! I don't know what plan you are working but we do Dave Ramsey and have run the class twice, getting ready for a third at our church!

Have you tried a Costco or BJ's? I am new to FL so I have not checked them out yet here...

I'm sure the Hispanic grocert store will do very well in Orlando. It stinks that places like Albertsons and Winn Dixie are just not around much anymore.

Gooding's is a casualty of Orlando growth!
In the late 90's Orlando went from the typical small town to the rapid growth of the 2000's creating a transient city of thousands moving in and out every year and with these relocations from around the Country and Globe no loyalty to any one grocery store.
Gooding's didn't see this coming and reacted to slowly requiring them to raise prices.
In Richmond where I'm from we had Ukrop's grocery stores and because the area kept a stable population they own the food market there even chasing stores like Safeway out in the mid-90's.
In the Rochester area of New York they have Wegmans, again stable population, now placing stores in Penn., Maryland and Virginia along I-85.
Just my 2

I do the Dave Ramsey thing too. I am not struggling, but always like a good deal.

And thats where no sense of community started, the excess flag waving and stickers on cars (NOT American flags and stickers), constant spanish, etc...and pretty much when Orlando started to go down hill in many folks minds. Including mine obviously.

I think it will only be a matter of time before Albertson's exits Florida all together. Even though I work for Publix I actually like shopping at Albertson's. It's a good store with a lot of good deals in my opinion, they always keep the stores clean and well stocked too. The same goes for Winn-Dixie. Considering the area it's in, the Winn-Dixie on OBT and Lancaster is actually a very nice store, its clean though its look seems very late 80s early 90s

The only Albertson's I can think of now is in Kissimmee by 192. They used to have so many more (The one on Osceola Pkwy and BVL Blvd that is now a Ross, the one by Curry Ford and 417 thats now a Publix, the one in Dr Phillips that is now a Publix Greenwise, The one on North OBT in Rosemont that is just closed, I'm sure I could list more but I can't remember right now)

Even though I work for the competition (and I suppose me working at Publix means I contributed to driving them out) I will miss Albertson's, unless I move to Las Vegas (about 80% sure I will) where they are as common as Publix there
