Are the neighborhoods around Wekiwa Springs State Park & Sweetwater Country Club in Apopka, FL a nice place to live? Also, which is a better high school... Apopka High School or Wekiva High School?

I do not have any information on the schools, but the area is generally pretty nice with many older homes in established neighborhoods. The only real areas to avoid in the general vicinity are close to downtown Apopka and South Apopka and certain parts of Altamonte around the Forest City area or Wymore Road. Most places north of 436 are nice and safe places to live. There are also a lot of amenities in the immediate area.

These are very nice neighborhoods. Good Choice. I have nephews in both schools and both are doing well.
I like Apopka it still has that small town feel to it.

That area is very nice. The only real concern I would have is if you're not used to "Florida" bugs. Because it's so close to a natural preserve you're probaly going to find more critters there than a more developed area. So if you have a problem with big flying bugs that may be an issue, but likely only a very small one. On the other hand, I've driven the roads bordering the Wekiwa area many times and have seen wild turkeys and deer. It's always a plus to be able to wake up and see wildlife through your window, to me anyways.

I've never heard of Wekiva High School, but the area is beautiful with lots of trees and natural "Florida" vegetation. We live in Sabal Point and have deer, bears, racoons, possums, and even a small alligator in one of our ponds. It took us a while to get used to the noseums (sp?) when we moved to this side of Longwood, but it's very pretty here.

Great place to live
Really nice place to live. Peaceful, lots of nature and trees, friendly people and not at all "snobby." Very stable area. People move in and stay.
