I saw an article from 1992 where a zillion folks turned out to complain, I guess it did not help. Wished we were like the BRITS, only the tourists pay. Any one know if we will get any relief anytime soon?

LOL...it happens. I was thinking what an odd thread...

In terms of tolls it's not going to get any better and will probably increase. We have a Governor and state government that gets a happy from slashing budgets for public services such as infrastructure/roads, so we get to shoulder the slack via tolls which pays for maintenance and expansion.

If you don't want to pay tolls, take a different route.

This.

This is really a national and state issue, in addition to a regional one. Gas tax hasn't changed or kept up with inflation. Plus you have the double whammy of more fuel efficient cars.

Road infrastructure and maintenance has to be paid somehow

I take alternate routes, takes 1/2 hr longer at minimum and alot more traffic- so is that your wise answer? I tought maybe there were commitees or folks complaining about them to change them. I heard someone say there was such a group, so asking in here> There are alternate funds and ways to collect. In Miami you have fewer tolls and alot cheaper. So other cities do it. and I hear we are the capital of tolls- have more than anyone else in the state.

In Miami, you suffer through 95 during peak hours or you pay up crazy tolls to drive on the Lexus lanes.

Preview of things to come here when tolls are imposed on I-4.

Honestly, If I was still commuting between Altamonte and Dr Phillips on certain days, I'd cough up the $6 or whatever and take the nice and open "lexus" lanes. There is no such option for that in Orlando now

Someone needs to pay to build and maintain those "convenience" roads, and I'd rather it was the people who use them via tolls than everyone via taxes.
