I don't know about anybody else, but I think the news casts here are terrible. They basically repeat the same stories over and over for a few days! And every station has the same exact stories. Even the way they present themselves with the cheesy backdrops. I don't know, I've lived in other cities and Orlando news is just bad.

I hate it when they promote a big story, and then the piece only lasts about 30 seconds or less and they then tell you go to their website for the rest of the story. Fox 35 is really notorious for that.

If anything, I think the local newscasts are more annoying than anything else. There's too much sensationalization with the loud, hyped up talking. The newscasters have to realize they can report the news calmly in a manageable volume and tone rather than like the guy who tries to sell appliances direct or the Oxyclean product. This loud, brash reporting just adds to everything else that's wrong around here. I actually don't watch local news when I can, just CNN, Headline News, and WGN.

Ok, gotta have one who disagrees...I like WFTV (channel 9) for the most part. Yes, there are some overly dramatic moments, but IMO, they are the best and most professional. And I've seen newscasts from here to the west coast and ours are just as good or better than ANY of the rest.

Of course they're all going to report on the same things -- they are the local news events.

What I don't like on any of the stations is their knocking on someone's door or chasing them down for an interview when someone just suffered a tragedy or a family member has been arrested. There are times when it's just not "the public's right to know." Give them some privacy.

I like Channel 13 the best. I think they are the most unbiased and they don't sensationalize stories. I really like Jackie Brockington, she seems very genuine and not a bleach blonde Barbie like a lot of the others are.

Orlando isn't the greatest in this category, but if you want to see an awful newscast, come visit the Miami-Dade/Broward media market. Palm Beach County is probably happy to get their own news market. Fox 7 is the only channel that has any sense of professionalism (still not much), and sadly, it feels like watching a tabloid. I can't watch any of the local news here and just stick with the paper or online sources. In Orlando, I at least found News 13 to be very decent, and WESH to be watchable.

WFTV is the worst in my opinion. It started a few years back. I remember during the hurricanes they were amazing then it just went down hill after that. During the election with the whole Barbara West/Joe Bidden thing and now the Casey Anthony mess it getting unwatchable. I like Fox 35 in the morning and at 5. Don't have Brighthouse anymore and I miss 13 a lot especially for the weather.

The news channels seem very unprofessional in Orlando. There's not much in-depth analysis of the stories. And don't get me started on the commercials in the Orlando market..they're very loud and in-your-face, + tacky too. I didn't see this behavior in other similar sized cities like I do here.

i think this is another thing true wherever you go...
here in NYC, I can not stand the fox 5, UPN 9 , WPIX 11 news. I only like NBC4, CBS and ABC
