Alas, the baby bird is leaving the nest.

Could anyone recommend a clean hotel in a nice area? Not fancy and expensive but not sketchy either. Most of the hotels seem to be near Disney; I'd like to be a little closer to Winter Park. (Do you guys call it WP, btw?)

Thanks for any tips!

Not sure what you're looking to spend, but there's a B&B right in Winter Park: Park Plaza Hotel Winter Park Florida

Also, I've never heard anyone refer to Winter Park as WP, except maybe on this forum.

Check out the Best Western in Winter Park. It's very well kept up and is within 10 minutes or so of the college. Parking would probably be a heck of a lot easier too.

Park Plaza. Old but quaint and can be noisy with the trains but still worth it.
We spent 4 nights there in 2004 when we came down to Orlando to buy a house.
Every morning coffee, juice and a blueberry muffin brought to your room. Everyday another stinkin blueberry muffin! OK they were good but c'mom how about something different.
Dinner every night in WP; great.

I will second that motion. The B/W, Winter Park, is a very nice place to stay in a very nice neighborhood and is pretty close to Rollins.
