Good morning peevers.

I trust that you are all in good spirits and ready to face the new week.

I wish to thank cittic10 for today's peeve.

Simply put it's red lights- I guess that's the ones found when driving, not the ones found in certain parts of Amsterdam.

Just taking our big town up the road, the problems they cause on a daily basis are so infuriating. I'll hold fire on the specifics so as to see what you post.

So my dear peevers, the POTD is;

Red lights when driving.

(With thanks to cittic10).

Depends, if it's the cops behind me with red lights flashing at me then it's oh oh. But redlights at the intersection don't bother me unless someone runs through it, then oh oh again.

Jezer, tell me more about Amsterdam

Morning Jezer...another hot summer week coming up with no relief until towards the end of this week...90 plus degrees up until Thursday..whew!! Regarding red lights..I don't think its so much the Red traffic lights thats the issue as it is the way drivers handle them. I have told this story on here once before and it will bring a smile to everyones face one more time..I was stopped at a red traffic light in my little toyota scion. In front of me was this big 4 wheel drive, jacked up truck with radio blasting. The light turned from red to green one time, then two times and this driver SAT THERE. When the third time rolled around and he continued to sit there, I very gently leaned on my car horn a couple of times. He looks in his rear view mirror and says "fuc&^% you you fat bit&&^%h" I leaned out my window and said "HOW DID YOU KNOW I WAS FAT?".....HE looked shocked, I laughed at him and then told him to MOVE!! Was I fat at that time...OH YAAH!! So, its not the light itself its the NUTS who are color blind and sit there and don't drive thru them once they turn green.

Red lights aren't a problem around here, as much as bright lights coming towards you at night!

Nothing wrong with red lights at intersections.

Seems to be confusion when they aren't working,so they must be doing their job.

Good peeve, cittic and Jez! Nobody likes waiting for red lights, although it bothers some more than others.

Yesterday evening I had a heck of a time driving west on U.S. Hwy 30 in NW Indiana. The lines of cars waiting at every red light for several miles were very long. The light would turn to green, but turned to red after only about 3 cars had an opportunity to go. So at each of those big intersections I had to wait for multiple light sequences before I could get through.

I always stop and think how lucky those other drivers are with the green lights and someday I'll have them too if I'm good.
