Weekend greetings, kids! Scroll on down for Today's Tip.

NEED AUTOMOTIVE REPAIR?

Here's another cool automotive Tip; a truly great idea.

We all know the cost of auto repairs these days is off the charts. To make
matters worse, many garages charge huge fees for diagnostics in addition
to the actual repair costs.

A great way to save tons of money on car and truck repairs is to take your
vehicle to an auto mechanics school. Students would do the diagnostics and
work on your vehicle, but they would be supervised by certified teachers
with extensive experience. Chances are you'll get even better service than
you would at an auto repair shop because the students will be taking care
to do everything right. Best of all, you'll only have to pay the cost of parts.

Hmm.. Interesting one Pam. I guess they have such a place up the road but I wonder if they can access all makes given the way diagnostics are done.

I'll stick with the franchised garage for servicing in order to keep up my full service history but it would be worth trying with a vehicle where that wasn't such an issue.

Most are always looking for a way to save. This is another possibility. Some High School shops do this as well. Thanks Pam!

I'm glad to see some folks here have used student mechanics. I need to check around my area to locate the nearest mechanics' school.

Happy Valentines Day, everybody!

Great tip Pam... FYI Any time you have your vehicle serviced anywhere take all your personnel information out of the vehicle and only leave the vehicle key... that old gas bill has your address on it... or your insurance card that's in the glove box.. or little Jimmy's report card stuck up above the visor.. Name of school + Jimmy's name... Only takes 10 minutes to do a once over of the vehicle for your own personal security..
