today’s Question of the Day:
Have you ever gone apple picking at an orchard? Not really, once while in the mountians hunting we found an old cabin, it had some apple trees in the back and we picked some so I guess we sorta did

Bonus:
Have you ever been on a hay ride? Yes I have done that once.

That is a beautiful picture

I had some carrots tonight.

Good Morning pocono...great picture!!!

No, always wanted to pick apples at an orchard, but never got the chance. None nearby.

Yes, have been on many hayrides in the past. Loved them. Late at night, lanterns lit, drinks in hand, singing songs, laughing and throwing hay all over the place. We even got lost once on a neighbor's farm. But not for long. Luckily a full moon helped us get back on 'track'.

Love chocolate chip cookies fresh out of the oven and a tall glass of cold milk! Hmmmmm, heaven.

$825 for an automobile? Heck, it costs that much for a few tanks of gas now!!

Have a good day, pocono!!! Thank you for the ? o' the day!!!

I have been apple picking many times, it's a very Pocono thing to do. For years, we lived directly across from an farmstand/orchard, and at this time of year...all we would smell were apples and mums. They make amazing apple cider, too.

I have also been on hay rides quite a lot. Even on the day I was married, it was a hay ride that my bridesmaids and groomsmen arrived on. (total hick wedding) I've also been on haunted hay rides...

one time we went under a tree, and a dummy dropped from a branch, meant to scare us of course, but Mr. Poconoproud grabbed the thing, and off came it's pants...now it was a naked dummy ...

and my favorite cookie is my mom's peanut butter cookies.

Yes, In NH there are many Pick Your Own (PYO) orchards and when the kids were small going to the orchards was one of the best parts of autumn.....they loved the ladders and picking poles with baskets to get the apples from higher up. I don't think there are many tastes as wonderful as a fresh McIntosh apple picked on a cool fall day....buffed bright and shiny on your sweat shirt....the crack when you bite into it and the explosion of flavor and the juice that exceeds your mouth's capacity to hold it in......a treasure. The ride out to the orchard on the tractor pulled wagon and the occassional porcupine munching drops at the edges of the orchard near the woods...the call of the jays and the bright sunshine on the fall colors.......Wonderful family experience! When you get home float those apples in a sink of icewater to get the heat of the sun out of them and then keep in the fridge to keep that snap in em.

Hay Ride: When I was a teen-ager there was a place called Handle Bar Ranch near Cincinnati, lots of youth groups would go and rent bikes and have a cook out etc. It was very popular for organized activity type ..... for many it was a place for first dates.....in the evening they had a hay ride.....sweet sixteen romantic type thing....If I remember correctly they sometimes had big draft horses pulling the wagon..(I am not sure of that).... sometimes a tractor....anyway, yes went on a hay ride.....

favorite cookie......Peanut Butter cookie with the fork tine marks on it.

Still on the road and have the opportunity to get access to internet and of course had to come to one of my hot spots! "? O day" !!

What a beautiful picture to click onto, pocono!! October is such a awesome month. The color's are everywhere. Pumpkins, apples, just a wonderful feeling in the air..

Have you ever gone apple picking at an orchard?
I don't recall going to a orchard to pick apples in my life. But just yesterday was in a yard that had apples, pears, apricots and got to pick some... yummy fresh fruit.
But where I live in California the community is known for their apples. Orchard's everywhere!! I even have a couple tree's in my yard that the deer just love....
But this time of the year the community it is overwhelmed with people coming from all over to pick apples. They have one area called, "Apple Hill" and everyone comes and enjoy the festive of the season and the beautiful color's of the tree's changing and of course too pick apples......
There are many stands you can stop and everything has to do with apples...from apple dumplings, pie, jam, wine, salsa, juice, cider, you name it, they'll make it...

Have you ever been on a hay ride?
Yes, many, many of times. What can I say when your raised a country girl...One stands out in my life was in December caroling.... just about froze my behind off... but it was so much fun!!!
Of course at "Apple Hill" they have their hay rides for all to enjoy!! I just love this time of the year...

Homemade Cookies Day ~ XTRA BONUS Q ~ What’s your favorite cookie?

Again, a yes! Sometimes both at the same time . A hay ride through the apple orchard back to the cider shed for fresh squeezed (with the apples you bring in) cider and donuts.
