Half of my class has Spanish reading/speaking parents. I need to ask someone to transfer this note into Spanish-and please be honest! (meaning, don't have me actually saying something crude to parents)

Here it is:

Dear Parents:

Until 2008 begins, your first grader is learning to broaden his writing skills, by adding lots of description. For a fall writing project, I ask that you and your child get a small pumpkin and decorate it however you wish. This does not have to be a “Halloween pumpkin”; instead of creating a “jack-o-lantern” you can paint it different colors, make it look like a Barbie head…use your imagination to create your child’s writing piece- it’s up to you! Foam pieces, glitter, glue, paint, markers, jewels, glasses…use whatever you have lying around your house! Please have your child bring in his pumpkin by: October 15th. We will start our writing at that date.

This is what the on line translation gave me.........

Estimados Padres:

As someone who has five years experience in Spanish, be adviced that online translators often make grammatical errors (such as using an improper verb tense, for example). An English version of an error might be "The dog bark tomorrow." Our Spanish professor could always tell when someone cheated and used Babblefish because of the many errors it would make. Granted, it still gets the point across though.

I'll co-sign on that. It will get the point across but there will be grammatical mistakes.
