I use to get into lenghty debates with the shop dog where I once worked. Once in a while I would even win.

Yeah... I talked to my cat all the time. I have been know to carry on conversations with squirrels. Their was this one time I was in a real good debate with a squirrel in Tennessee in a hotel parking lot...You know that feeling some ones behind you... yeah that one. Turned around and a Sheriffs Deputy was stand about 5 paces behind me. He notice the Florida tags on my car... just looked at me and got back in his cruiser and drove off....

I make up songs about my cat and sing them to him. He gives me the cold, icy stare and turns away in disgust. Everyone's a critic.

I will also mix it up with any of the following songs:

"What's New, Pussycat?"
"How Much is That (Kitty) in the Window?"
"Who Let the (Cats) Out?"
"Me and Mrs. Jones" (using his name instead, of course)

I'm serious. I really do.

I talk to the cat.."Get off the couch ! Get off the chair! Get off the bed! You just came in! Quit eating the plants! I just fed you!

I am not much of a cat person, and I didn't ask for this one

I talk to my dog all the time. It's usually just simple stuff like "where's your bone?" (he loves the milkbone type doggy bones). He eats them but he always stashes at least one away for later so he'll then go and get it from wherever he left it last. Or if I hear some noise outside like a car horn for example I'll say "what was that?!" and he'll usually bark and go running to the door to look outside.

I used to sing that song, "What's new pussycat?" to my Maltese, Prudence. "What's new Prudy pup?"

I'd also sing, "Pretty little Pru where are you? You're my puppy uppy!"

She actually liked my singing and would whine when I stopped.

My other dogs don't really care about my singing.
