Well, it's easy enough to make fun of names like that, but his parents named him Richard, and of course he or somebody else saw an opportunity to put a little humor in his name..

I'm glad I have the name of one God's Archangels, Michael, and I'm glad I wasn't born in France, because in French the name Michael is pronounced "Michelle"...

My name in Hebrew has a weird pronounciation, my parents told me long time ago it's "Mee-khai-yel", the "khai" has a Hebrew sound that's not in the English language.

Also, if I ever get married and bring children into the world, their names would definitely be from the Bible, the name of the Archangel Gabriel would be good, any of the angels... except of course the fallen one, Lucifer...

Also, I remember in high school, there was a guy named Richard Nickson, the spelling is different than the former president's name, but it sounds the same.

LOL.. you just reminded me of a guy named Harold I knew in the 1970's when I worked as a bagger in a grocery store. I worked with his brother, whose name was Bill/William, their last name was Dong, of course Harold went by the name Harry.. Harry Dong..

Their father was Chinese.

How about some of those non-human names that are given to kids? You don’t know if someone is referring to a tree, rock, or bush when you hear the name yelled out by their parents.

Does anybody know anyone who named their kids the same first name as last ?

I don't , but I have known people who did have a last name that was also a well used first name --" Gregory" was one of the people.

That would be unique !

Apparently, bird names have become increasingly popular. Nicole Richie and her husband named their latest kid Sparrow.
