Looks like this deer was game or was it just passing the buck? Was this deer in it for the doe? I've never herd of such a thing but this staggering topic is really fawny.
Laugh all you want, but we have tons of them where I live and one day I saw one just walking down the sidewalk in broad daylight, and another time I saw one standing on someone's front stoop (I think it was selling girl scout cookies) and I also had one get up on my covered front porch and the dogs went ape over it and it scared me to death because I have a huge picture window there - easily broken by the dogs or the dear. I live by a river so they all come up at night looking for food, but I also live in an older suburban housing development, so we aren't out in the country or anything.
One Christmas I was out around 1 a.m. to take the trash out and it was just beautiful after a snowfall no one had walked or drove on and I heard this noise and looked up and saw this deer (with the antlers) running across the street, through people's yards, to get to the corner where there were 5 more. They all waited for each other at the stop sign and then crossed the road together. It was quite funny and surreal.
