We have 4 kids and at the top of their lists this year:
iTouch for my older kids (10 and 9yrs), anything nerf and Wii games (NHL, NFL and other sports related games) new equipment for all the sports they play as well and a few board games/card games
7 year old wants a scooter (has a "baby" 3 wheel scooter and wants a 2 wheel), Littlest Pet Shop adoption center and a puppy (she didn't specify "live" so she's getting a large stuffed one )
5 year old wants anything that deals with Legos, has a remote control or is related to star wars.
They all still believe in Santa, though the 2 olders have been questioning it
There were a lot of things on their lists that they will NOT be getting this year, namely the game "Call of Duty" for the Wii, a scooter with a motor (I'm VERY anti-power/motor vehicles for kids) and NO LIVE ANIMALS!
My 5 year old is addicted to Thomas the Tank Engine. He's asking for a Spin and Fix Thomas and a Let's Go Thomas, Super Mario Bros. for the Wii (He can't believe that Mommy played it back in the day,) and Mind Flex. Pricey list.
My 4 year old is really into Batman, Star Wars, and anything related to the Cars movie. He told Santa that he wanted a giant car to drive down the road. I hide my keys from him just in case.
They're getting some board games, the Star Wars Lego Wii game, the Thomas Spin and Fix for my oldest, and I'm still working on the little guy's big gift. He just had a birthday so it's hard to shop for his Christmas. This year they are getting 1 big thing and everything else is to be shared. They haven't done so great sharing so Santa is going to leave them a little note.
My 17 year old wants an Itouch. We were talking about getting him a smartphone for college next year so we were looking at the IPhones-but since we have Verizon, they aren't available so he ended up with the Motorola Driod
DD14 wants a digital camera, Coach wristlet and pajamas. She will be getting all of those from various people.
DS14 wants a nerf gun. I sure hope Grandma got him one. We figured he would get one from his cousins-he didn't (that party was this past Saturday). If Grandma didn't get him one we will probably have to run out and get him one on Christmas Eve. We got him a nice set of golf clubs so he will be thrilled with those but when you ask for something so simple you should probably get that.
My son asked for a Nintendo DSi, but my husband and I agreed that an eight-year-old does not need the web browser and built-in camera, so we got him a DSlite for a little less money, plus a Lego Battles game. He also wanted a membership to Club Penguin, and his grandparents were happy to oblige.
My ten-year-old daughter desperately wants a green -- it must be green -- iPod Nano, which she will be absolutely thrilled to receive on Christmas morning. We've already loaded it with a couple of movies, her music collection, and two audiobooks from our public library. That ought to keep her busy for awhile. She also received a membership to Club Penguin from her grandparents.
Our standard gifts are a new pair of flannel pj's and a book or two. In addition, we gave my son a sleeping bag in preparation for camping with his Cub Scout pack next spring. We gave our daughter a Barefoot Dreams robe. (If you've never seen these, look them up, because wearing one is like putting on a cloud.) The kids' stockings aren't big enough for much more than sweets, and that suits them just fine.
DS10 collects Swarovski. He wanted the 2009 Gorilla and Cub set for Hanukah. It was almost $400 so my father, MIL and us all chipped in to get it for him.
DS13 had a bar mitzvah in July. He used some of his money to get himself a digital camera. We give our kids a budget of $200 each from us and he has only spent $65 of it on a massage chair. He is thinking of buying an iTouch but he isn't sure. His grandparents gave him enough money so that he could buy it but he is still thinking about whether he really wants one. He already has an iPod and he isn't sure the iTouch is worth the money. He is not very materialistic.
Nintendo DSi. DSi. DSi. DSi. DSi. DSi. DSi. DSi. DSi. DSi. (Can you tell it's been the topic of EVERY conversation in the past month?) LOL!
Sounds like my grandaughter ---- she is 7 and all her friends have one --- yikes. We figured probably her last year for "santa" ------- and she really does not ask for a lot.....this from a mean old mom who did not buy the video games for her kids. {but we are also doing karate lessons - need to keep her body moving}
