I'm 42 and my husband is 49.We have three sons.I want to have a daughter but my husband said we have too many children and it's too old for me to have another child at 40 plus.
Since medically you can now decide which gender you would like to reproduce...I reckon it comes down to financial investment and two adults choosing to both be willing to go 18 yrs plus in child rearing.
Hopefully your husband has equal say and is given consideration...Instead of being drafted.
This is a private discussion for you.
How many kids others have is of no consequence to how you come to terms with your family unit.
Quality..Not quantity.
Luckily we now have 3 grand daughers. All the fun of girl children with none of the angst as parents of girls lol. Boy children are much easier as parents imo.
I have two kids. I'm 38 and there's no way I would have another kid now. I will be happy to be a grandparent someday, but I'm so glad I'm done with diapers and car seats and strollers.
Thanks for all the replies above.
I just want to know whether 3 kids are too many for a family. Some of my friends have more than 3 kids, but my husband said few of his acquaintances have more than 3.
So I put the quistion here to see how many is the normal.
All replies would be appreciated.Thank you everyone!

How many children do you have?
I'm a 48-year-old man, and our kids are 20, 20 and 18. I've loved having them and wouldn't change a thing - but the thought of another one now, in my late forties, is the stuff of nightmares.
I am 38, have 2 kids, and that is enough for me, at least biologically. Sometimes I think that maybe I will foster when my kids are grown. But you have to decide what is right for your own family. My mom had me in her 20's, then she adopted my two sisters when she was in her 40's, and now she adopted my brother in her 60's. She has 3 generations of kids. Her youngest is younger than my youngest!
2 boys as a 40 year old mom, since my youngest is Preschooler, there's no way im having another.
