A friend of mine has a child, recent newborn, about 11-12 months old. He wants to find out what his options are for taking care of the baby. Currently he has a full time job, like 9-5, and taking time off is not an option or very limited.

What would you guys do in his case?

Relatives, friends, or day care if you want to continue working. Otherwise, quit and collect taxpayer dollars.

I don't get it. Is he a single parent? How was the child cared for up until now?

A one-year old is a "newborn?" Babies are walking by then.

OP, your question is nonsensical. Could you elaborate?

Relative, family, friend, are not an option. Day care, he is not sure about where to look for with such young age. He did think about quitting and collect taxpayer dollars, but he would rather not do that.

Consider him as a single parent. The grandma was looking after the kid, so that's how the kid was taken care of. Circumstance change, so he needs to explore for option as to what he can do to take care of the baby while still keep his 9-5 job.

Sorry, I wasn't sure if an infant that's 11 months old consider as a newborn. I didn't look up the term of newborn, and I just did, so I apologize for being lazy today. So, I am really referring to infant or baby. The baby is not walking, he is crawling though.

With no family or friends to help out, the only options are daycare or a nanny. Sounds like he needs to ask friends or coworkers for recommendations in his area.

So a year old isn't newborn or an infant.

I think your friend needs to figure this out...its actually a really common part of parenting. Babies as young as 6 weeks go to day care.

care.com
google day care centers (and tour some)
ask other people with kids

It really isn't rocket science.
