Just wonder what you think about this. I know many grandparents who are 35-40 years older than their grandchild. But my parents are 90 years older than our youngest child...
Not so uncommon when one spouse (usually the wife) is considerably younger than the other.
My great grandfather was married twice. He had a bunch of kids with his first wife over a 17-year marriage and his second wife was about 15 or 16 when they married so she had just started her child-bearing years. As a result, when some of his youngest kids were born they already had nieces nephews who were up to 15 years older than them. Due to his siring years spanning the better part of four decades, I have cousins a generation before mine who are 5 to 15 years younger than me.
My mom didn't live long enough to see my two younger children, but my dad was 79 and 82 when they were born. He was much (much!) older than their friends' grandparents.
To be 35-40 when you become a grandparent basically means that both you and your parents were teenagers when you had babies. Not really recommended and I don't think it's all that common any more. I'm 50 and a few of my friends already have grandchildren, but most do not.
I expect that I will be at least 60 if and when I have grandchildren.

Frankly, I don't know any grandparent who is only 35-40 years old than their grandchildren. Among my friends most are 30 to 40 years older that their children.
My youngest grandchild is 65 years younger than me and 75 years younger than her maternal grandfather. which seems a lot more common. Now a 90 year difference does seem like a lot.

I have met people who had a child at 17-18-19-20, and their child did the same. Not too common but it does happen.
How old are your children? At 90+ years, their grandparents have limited time with them to build memories. It might be good to have the grandparents spend time with their grandchildren, teaching them things of older times. Such as making music, making art, and making sandwiches.

One of my grandfathers was born 104 years earlier than I. And the other grandfather was born 89 years earlier. One grandfather was 35 years older than my grandmother on that side. On the other side, my grandfather was 16 years older than my grandmother.
