Our school district has a homebound program, is that what you're talking about?

Yes, when the school sends a teacher to your home for your kids that for whatever reason are unable to attend school in a normal fashion.

Here's a great link. This is similar to the program offered here.

NPS Homebound Instruction (http://www.emsc.nysed.gov/nonpub/HANDBOOKonServicestoPupilsAttendingNonpublicSchool s/NPSHomeboundInstruction.htm - broken link)

My stepdaughter was eligible for homebound at one point, well, two points, actually... But anywat, they send a teacher to your house two hours a day to work with the student when they, for whatever reason, can't go to school. In our case, once it was recovery from surgery, and the other was drug rehab. That way, the student doesn't fall behind. I was told that if the child is giong to be absent for more than two weeks, as stated by a physician, this qualifies them for the program.

We didn't do it in either case. If you're familiar with my threads about my DSD, you know why... lol... she's a bit of a pill. Anyway, I hope this is helpful.

Have a great day!
