My son has a ton and a half of nicknames from me:
AJ
AJ bear
baby bear
papa bear
papa
babe
baby
little boy
behbalsh game (thats how he used to say "baseball" game...he sounded so cute that I started calling him that lol)
and sometimes when he does things that remind me of his dad, I call him NICHOLAS!! (to which he replies, "my name's not Nicholas!!") lol

his dad calls him:
bubba
chuck

What do you call your kiddos? Is there a story behind your nicknames for them?

We call my oldest "Peach". There have been a few others that we tried, but Peach seems to have stuck. It actually came when we were watching It's a Wonderful Life. Our daughter was just 2 months old at Christmas and there's a scene when George Bailey says that they like his brother's wife..."She's a Peach" he says. For some reason, that stuck and now, 7 years later, that's still what we call her.

Our youngest is only 2 and we've been calling her different things. Sometimes she gets called her middle name, Jane. When she first started moving, she would scoot across the floor instead of crawling, so we called her "Scooter." Lately my husband's been calling her "Peanut." I call her AJ occassionally (that's her initials) but nothing has had any staying power so far.

I call my daughter "my wee girlie," have since her birth at 4 lbs. (2 mos early).

My son is "Mr. Bumby" or "number one son". We have a little game we play at bedtime that goes kinda like this:

me: You're my pookie-dookie.
him: No.
me: Fuzzy-wuzzy?
him: No.
me: Turkey-lurkey? Foxey-loxey?
him: No, no, no.
me: Well, who are you, then?
him: I'm your number one son!
me: That's right!

He's getting to the age now that I don't think it will last much longer, but for now he still gets a big ole grin.

Now that she is at the ripe old age of almost 4, my daughter insists that we use her given name.

Up until recently it was:
pumpkin
punchin' pie
sweetie
evelina-bellina-screamah

We called our firstborn "boo" for a couple months. Mostly because it felt awkward to call her by her real name. It was like that for our second born too but we made it a point to use his name from the get-go just so we would get used to it faster. No nicknames after that.

My nickname as a kid was Jody (derived from my middle name Jo). I got it when I was born from my father, he named me Lina Jo (Jody, last name withheld for privacy).

My childhood friends and relatives still call me Jody.
