Info sought on 1986 Rail Wreck at Confluence/Ursina (rating, paid)

I am a former railroad block operator/signalman, who pursues a hobby interest in the thousands of signal towers that once dotted the country.

Back in 1985 I paid a visit to the CSX (former B&O) tower at Confluence, by then operating only part-time.

About a year later, I learned that the tower had been destroyed in a derailment, and the operator (who I'm pretty sure was the person I met), was fatally injured.

I would appreciate any help in learning the identity of this gentleman, who might well be remembered as the last "op" to die at his post.
