Hi, I am looking to move from Arbutus to maybe Waynesboro? I work in Bethesda and am hoping for just over an hour of commute time. I go in at 6 AM and leave around 2:30 pm. Does anybody have an idea how hard the commute would be that early? Also, I have a young daughter going into school next year. How are the schools?

Default Good Luck

1 hour to Bethesda from Waynesboro? Not likely... It took me 1 hour from Carroll valley to Germantown. I work in VA and it takes me 1.5 hours. Just to get to Frederick it take .5 hours and that is at 5:30 in the morning. Drive is not bad to Frederick, after that well 270 is 270.

Default Waynesboro Commute

Hi I worked in Frederick MD for 20 years. Over the last 5 years traffic has really increased....from Waynesboro to Frederick, using Rt. 66 to I70 takes about 40-45 minutes in the morning. In the afternoon it really gets jammed up going over the mountains...still not too bad compaired to a commute from Frederick to points south. I was thankful I got off on the first exit in Frederik. I could see cars creeping along for miles before me. This is at 6:30am...it's probably a bit better an hour before. The cost of living is better up here I think...but the rate of pay is equal or less than what it cost to live....but that's everywhere....

I think the school are great in Wboro...compaired to some public schools down the road. I don't see little racial problems, there are some want-to-be "gang type" kids but not many....they are harmless.

A good place to raise a family-- Waynesboro PA.
