I need help ASAP!!! We currently live in SC but are originally from the midwest. Husband may be taking a job in Peapack, NJ. Have done lots of internet searches and are more confused than ever. We think we would be best in PA as it would be more similar to our lifestyle/way of life. But not sure about commute time. Currently only have 20-25 minute commute. Good schools are a big factor along with cost of living. Would be looking to buy a home somewhere in the $300,000 range. Any advice/suggestions are much appreciated!!!

Even if you are living very close to the border, a 20-25 min. commute to Peapack is not in the cards by any stretch given the traffic. If your husband is willing to extend the commute time to about 45 mins. to an hour, you could find a place in the Allentown-Bethlehem-Easton area.

As a life-long New Jerseyan, good schools abound in the Garden State, but you will pay for them in the form of high property taxes. Cost of living around Northern New Jersey is much higher than what you are currently used to.

My suggestion would be to check out the New Jersey board and post your question there too. You may have already and I just missed it.
