No, they inspect it when they first get the vehicle, so it has been sitting at the lot since March.

Whenever I buy a new car and the sticker is several months old, I tell 'em to slap a fresh one on there. I've never gotten an argument about it.

No, I don't think they would, but you just have to ask.

Yes, they will re-inspect the car for you and put the current month inspection sticker on the car. We had this done on several of the cars we purchased and we weren't charged for this service.

They will never go away because it's all done by mechanics and they would lose a lot of income if they didn't have them.

WRONG!!!

It's a safety requirement that doesn't cost too much and there are many other things that actually qualify as scams like State Stores., etc., largest legislature in the country . . .

Please provide a link to your source of information.

Inspections have nothing do to with safety and some of the worst looking and least safe cars are driving around PA as I type this with brand new "inspection" stickers on the windshield. If inspections were a legitimate practice then they would be completed at government inspection stations that did not fix cars on the side, but could only pass or fail someone for safety reasons and require a failed car to go to a mechanic if necessary. I am not sure if you have lived anywhere else in the country, but very few states require any type of vehicle "inspections" and there is no data to support PA and its drivers are safer due to these "inspections." Please provide evidence of less accidents due to faulty or unmaintained equipment in PA when compared to other states. I am sorry to hear that you are involved in the "inspection" scam and I hope that someday PA drops this program like most of the rest of the country.

Oh and to add to my last post, I am all for emissions testing and it looks like Florida, Kentucky, Minnesota, and New Jersey have all recently discontinued their state safety "inspections." Let's hope PA is next and we can end this scam once and for all.
