I was out today taking some photos and stopped along the side of rt.11 i think it was.

As i was standing there i noticed several lizzards running about.

First of all, i know theres only a few places in PA where ive seen them and they are mostly just the typical Annoles like you can buy in pet shops. I had no idea that we had them around here & nothing like this.

This one i managed to get a shot of is no regular annole. it was about 7-10 inches long.

Let me know if you have any idea what kind/species it is.

I believe you have a very beautiful shot of an Fence Lizard also known as a Prairie lizard , Sceloporus undulatus. They eat insects and spiders and are particularly fond of beetles.

It looks like a Northern Fence Lizard.

Default Where were these lizards spotted?

Toxxic, I hope you still check out these forums now and again. I know this thread is ancient but I was wondering if you could tell me what town this was in? I'm a nature photographer and I'm trying to get some shots of native PA fence lizards. I think route 11 runs from Maryland to New York so there's a lot of territory there!

DoctorKazoo, If you click on a posters name you can see all the posts by them. The OP, Toxxic, has not posted on this forum since 2009, the same year he posted this thread.

Yes I saw that but I was hoping that maybe Toxxic still read some of the threads or maybe he'd get an email telling him I replied and he'd check back here out of curiosity. I knew it would be a long shot!

Just a guess, but it was probably along Rt 11 in the Northumberland area of PA from the way the original post was worded (as that is the location the OP has).
