I am looking for my grandfather. No one knows much info about him. All of the information I have, I am unsure about. Some of it is really vague. If anything even sort of matches--- I'd be happy to hear. I know the past is the past and if you know him, or are him and do not want to be contacted, that is fine.... I'd just like a real name to put in my kids' baby books.
He is listed as S.N. Gentry on my mother's birth certificate. We BELIEVE that it MAY stand for Samuel Noel, but no guarantees. He was married to my grandmother, Willie "Mae" Edwards in the early 50's, possibly in Texarkana. They had a daughter, Patricia around 1952. About a year later, they had another daughter, Debra Jean. In 1955 there was another daughter, Barbara Jean, born in Tacoma, WA.
We believe he may have been in the Navy (or other armed force) , as we have a very out of focus picture of him in uniform.
The last thing that we think we know is that he married a woman named Diane?? and resided in California.
I Would Write To The State Of California And Get A Copy Of His Death Certificate. They May Have Something Online To Order It Too. It Says He Died In Sacramento So Maybe He Had Family There Too. It Will Cost For The Death Certificate But May Be Well Worth It.
Is there a way to use any of this info to find a marriage license between him and my grandmother. I just don't know how to be sure that we have the right person.
I Don't Think Ss# Are On Any Kind Of Marriage License. Where Did Your Grandmother Live Before They Got Married? That Could Be An Indication Of Where To Look. Also Since Their 1st Child Was Born In Parner Co, Tx, You Might Try There Too. What Kind Of Information Do You Have On Your Grandmother?
Oh Yeah, I Wanted To Bring To Your Attention Too. On The Patricia Born In Texas.....it Says The Mother's Name As Willa Mae Edwards Different Slightly From Willie Mae Edwards.
NOW THIS IS REALLY WEIRD. I FOUND A 3RD CALIFORNIA DEATH LISTING WITH THE SAME INFORMATION.
