I have discovered that my gg grandfather was born on Boston Indiana in 1857, does any one know of any sites or people who may be able to find out more about him and his family at all please

Fort Wayne Indiana, specifically the newly opened Allen County public library (main branch) has one of the most extensive geneological data/print collections available in the U.S. today. You may want to check the library website, and even consider making a trip out here to do your search on location.

I can find a Samuel W Herndon born in Indiana in 1857 or 58. Could this be him? Do you have a wifes name or childrens names?
