I've been disappointed with the pick-up overall on the hybrids (even the high end ones)...how is that one?
It's not that great, but that's because it's a v6 hybrid. It does 0-60 in 7.2 seconds. Compare that to the v8 version that does 0-60 in 5.5 seconds. Compared to my Nissan Altima Hybrid it's certainly more peppy.
If you want a hybrid with good pick up at a much more affordable price, test drive the Nissan Altima Hybrid. It's a 4-cyl hybrid and does 0-60 faster than the v6 Honda Accord.

Sorry...anything that gets to 60 in more than 4 seconds isn't for me.

...But out of curiosity, why would you spend $60K on a brand new Lexus?
I understand that maybe cars seem cheap here compared to Europe. And I understand wanting to love the car you drive (what with our great big wide and mostly free interstate system here)...
...But couldn't you love, say, a 2 year old BMW and only spend $40K and keep the other $20K?
I really am just curious.
err because we needed to buy at least 1 SUV, had a lexus previously in the UK and loved it, and paid less for it new here in the US than we would pay in for a pre owned one in Switzerland. we move to CH next year and will take it with us. IF we decide to sell it there we will probably only make a small loss if we make any loss at all.
We'd never bought a new car have cash to spend so why not.... we got to choose the type of wheels all the additional bits we liked and we are still glad we bought new.....
My SLK 350 was 2 years old but with only 14,000 miles and we bought it on a really snowy day and got a real bargain... it brought the average loss right down !!!
