Avoid all prepared foods ,limit meats, instead using basic food ingredients to eat well and plenty.

Depends on costs in your area, really. My husband and I only spend about $90/week on groceries, including non-foodstuffs like toilet paper. And we aren't coupon cutters. So $150 for 3 people is easily doable, especially if you are only including food in that number.

Just to feed myself, I average about $30/week. I've only spent $50/week on myself once this year. I don't purchase prepared items though, and always cook from scratch, which saves a ton of money. If you're not shopping around for deals or setting a budget, I could understand how you could spend $150/week for 3, although you could definitely spend less if you wanted to.

This might be a topic better suited for the personal finance or frugal living sub forum though.

Is it reasonable? Depends what you mean. It's easy to spend that much without veering into luxury territory, but at the same time it would also be easy to spend less, if that is your goal.

That's what I spend per week, on average,to feed a family of three,(plus two felines!) and we eat pretty well actually.
I don't buy a lot of Junk food or soda's though - but we do eat as much organic and
no artificial flavorings etc as much as possible.
