If they get a boost in pay for no reason - I should get a boost in pay too.

In fact, everyone should get a boost in pay if fast food workers begin to start making as much as a social worker who went to college.

People think the economy is bad now, just wait. $15 an hour to box fries. I'm an Associate Team Leader (assistant department manager) and I don't make $17.

It's just a dog chasing it's tail. You raise the bottom and you'll have to raise everyone else. Then you have to raise prices. Before long it will all be back where it was and it will all start again.

Meanwhile, the top will make more than ever and a lot of businesses will be gone. A new round of mergers and acquisitions and a recession or two.

Economics 101. Supply and demand.

I am an experienced teacher certified in elementary education, and I only made 23$ an hour after 15 years.

I would love it if burger flippers made 15$ an hour. Then I could work 40 hours a week instead of the 50-60 hours I normally worked.

If I was actually paid for working 50 hours a week at my salary, it would have been 18$ an hour.

I think 10$ an hour is more reasonable for minimum wage.

I think these protesters are confusing personal worth with economic worth. Their job is simple and easy. It does not take any education beyond that of grade school levels and, while it is unfortunate that their pay is low, it doesn't make sense for their pay to equal that of someone who's job is more complex and required further education.

There isn't some table where the "worth" of a job can be looked up. There is no independent yardstick at all.

It's nonsense. If minimum wage goes up by that much, everything else will go up as well. It's just dog chasing its tail. If one wants to make more money, then one should' Earn and Save'

''The fight for 15'' is specifically organized for fast food workers. With that said, I think they are aiming high, but will settle in between. I think they should get an increase, but nowhere near $15/hour. A job at Mcdonald's is not supposed to be a long term career.. anybody can do that job. At the same time, I think CEO pay is not fair either. They continue to get huge increases and bonuses while no one at the bottom is seeing any of it.

the big complaint of alot of the workers is they can't raise a family on min wage, i dont understand why they think they a job meant for high school aged kids to have "going out" money while living at home can support their family of 4 or 5 or 6... its not meant to be a forever job, it a ****ty job that should light a fire under anyone working them to go and improve their education or 'worth' so they can have a better paying job that pays more due to higher education/skill. you can train a 13yo to box fries and take cash. its mind blowing that they want that much, i would like my salary doubled too for no reason.
