Except that it took years to acquire these hard to find items and it would tale a long time to rebuild that. Having an extra $100-$200 per month would still take years to rebuild that, especially in the context of the items becoming harder to find over time.
He is ordered to pay child support. I could pay off my awd fully loaded 18 month old Durango on his arrears.
How do you make someone pay something they are determined to my pay? This is where the laws need to be stricter, punishments enforced and the system needs to proactively collect everyway possible.
You say you make good financial decisions, yet you drive a almost new fully loaded luxury car? You have the latest gadgets? Live in a huge house on acreage?
I have to ask why? Because you like the trappings of wealth, but only make $15 an hour?
That's fine if you're OK with that. But to say you "are" poverty (which is what exactly, as opposed to "living in poverty?") and not tell your parents to give you cash instead of gadgets, or not move out of that huge house on acreage, or not sell those earrings means you are no better than most folks in poverty that make dumb decisions.

Honestly I would love to see your budget. It seems like supporting only one person, instead of what I support on my salary would be like a cakewalk.
rent 425
health insurance 150
storage 225
food 150 (month-to-date 131)
student loan 100
everything else 50
clearly the storage is killing me. for the same monthly cost of rent+storage i could have a larger place, move everything out of storage, and stop paying for storage. but that entails up front costs i cannot cover.
I disagree with it. If I had to start over, I would be starting with nothing to sell and the acquisition ramp-up time (and increased cost) would not be worthwhile.

My salary is poverty. I already agreed that the things I own do not match my salary. I don't need my parents to give me cash. Why would they? They give gadgets because those are items they wanted us to have and it is not my place to tell them how to spend their money.

You do realize that if that is your take home income it is significantly less than the take home income of a full-time federal min. wage employee. I made about that while I was in college working part-time at a grocery store.

What is your income?
