Hi can we claim only child tax credit without earned income credit even if we r eligible for earned income credit we r not intrested in it.is there any minimun salary limit to claim the child tax credit.we want to claim only child tax credit.Any one please help us ASAP.

You should be able to claim CTC (Child tax Credit) IF YOU QUALIFY for it, without claiming EIC (Earned income Credit). Simply skip the section for claiming EIC and you are fine. If you have a tax preparer then they may not be able to avid or skip it (because of legal and system reasons).

There is a worksheet on page 40 of the 1040 form instructions which determines your child tax credit. Rather than the credit being limited to a certain income amount, it appears as though it's limited by the amount of tax you've paid.

If you don't qualify for the child tax credit, you might qualify for the additional child tax credit. Here's a link to the Addtional Child Tax Credit form.
