I scan my tax records and keep them on google drive in a PDF format. I have going back thru 2003 or 2004! I can probably start deleting them.

Same with other important docs that I don't need the originals of.

Honestly if you don't see this going anywhere why are you wasting your time? I'd just cut loose and call it a day.

OP, you remind me of me when I thought the man I was involved with could be "changed" by "helping" him clean up and get organized.

Hah.

The problem goes deeper than clutter. It's psychological and you will never be able to change him. So yes, you should keep your own place and leave his stuff alone. To him it is all "good stuff" and he won't part with it.

If you let him into your home, he will start hoarding there too. It's a disease.
