about my children's 529's and my money in the bank? I am not really literate in this field so I just wanted some advice on this....I don't have more than 100k in the bank but do I still need to worry?

It depend on where you live. Right now if you live in the wallstreet area are walking at street level, Then I would make sure to be look up. You don't want any brokers landing on you.
I have to worry. I sell sellable items. I havn't sold in many weeks. Theres a problem. And I'm f****d off about it. I didn't help cause the CC, but I sure as hell am gonna suffer. What happens next, I DECIDE.
If you're really worried, check out your bank's CAEL rating to see how sound it is. Maybe avoid WAMU for now. Don't keep more than 100K in any one bank.
I don't know what a 529 is.

Long term savings accounts all took a punch today but I'd like to think its for the better. MAYBE there will be more fiscal responsibility on Wall Street if they know the Feds aren't bailing them out.
