I just found Quicken for free for personal budgeting. Is anyone using it and is it secure?

I guess you mean quicken online. It has been free for several months. It should be secure.

I have been a Quicken user since the days of DOS.

I don't do much online with it, so mine is very secure.

Quicken ROCKS

But I prefer to purchase Quicken and store (and backup) my data on my own computer. Great for tax time and finding all my deductions.

Takes me about 30 seconds, if that, to balance a checking account statement.

I am also a long time Quicken user. I don't trust them or anyone with my personal data so I don't use the online services. Their current privacy policy may be fine but companies have suddenly changed it before and there is nothing you can do about it when they have your data on their server. I'd rather pay the $25 and have the data on my own media.

I also see no reason to upgrade every year. I don't upgrade it until it looks like they have made significant improvements for what I use.
