Do people who live on the Pennsylvania side of the Philly suburbs(Bucks, Montgomery, Chester and Delaware County) commute to South Jersey for work?

My spouse used to commute from Delco, and then NW Phila (almost near Montco) to Camden. Delco to NJ wasn't *too* bad, but NW Phila into Camden (or reverse) could be pretty awful. Why do you ask?

Since many people from South Jersey commute to Pennsylvania I just wondered if people from the PA suburbs commute to South Jersey.

That would mostly be about where they jobs are. And where you already (need to or want to-) live when you get a job.

The commute is heavier from Jersey into Philly, because the Philly-side may offer more jobs. If you live in Delaware County or Montgomery County and get a job in Clementon NJ Are you going to move? Likely not if your spouse's job is close to where you already live, and your kids are in school there -- and the schools are better where you already live.

((I'm from Philly and moved to MD for a job in DC. And we have that same dynamic here. There are hardly any good jobs in my county compared to neighboring counties, but housing costs less here. So people BUY here, and commute to other areas for their job. The commute is CLEARLY heavier going east to west, than the other direction -- just like the jersey to philly commute is heavier than the phily-to-jersey direction. But it does happen in the reverse. It's just that fewer people do it.

I commuted from Prospect Park for 13 years to Sewell and it took less than 25 minutes. Easy commute as long as there are no accidents or the President is not in town.

No traffic going my way! Also had the advantage of several routes/bridges. People drive like maniacs on some of these roads. Of course, I have been in DE for 15 years and times have changed.
