Hi,

Daughter will be moving to Wynnewood PA in May, already book an apartment.
We are planning to help her move into the apartment as looking into buying a used car when we are there. My question is what is the time line like assuming we are buying the car

1. with cash or
2. with financing.

Thanks any tips would be great.

I have bought with cash in January (from Craiglist) and it was quite straightforward. In the evening, I went with the seller in an AutoTag office and they made all the papers.

Both about the same. Say you get a car loan from a credit union, they will give you a blank check up to a certain value and you just fill it in when purchasing a car.

With the autotag place, especially if you are out of state, it might be different than what you're used to. Depending on the autotag place you use, some of them might not be very helpful with the steps you need for registering, getting, or transferring a title, etc. Bring a notebook with you to write in just in case. Some autotag places I've run into surprisingly charge more for notarization than some banks.
