Looking for a weekend away in a charming little town not too far from Delaware County, where we'll be visiting relatives. Which of the two towns would you recommend?

Or is there another option you like better?

We like art, walking, history and pastoral beauty...we're writers, so smallish budget recommendations would be helpful...

Appreicate your thoughts...

Chadds Ford for price, history, countryside, Brandywine River Museum (Andrew Wyeth), maybe take in a winery tour.

New Hope for town shopping, strolling, art shopping, but more expensive...

Chadds Ford is closer so you will have more time there, and you can venture out from that area quite easily to places like West Chester and Media...

Well, that's easy, Chadds Ford it is...I even found a pet-friendly place to stay that won't break the bank...and I was referencing Delaware County, PA.

Grew up in Delaware County, have an uncle and cousin in Media, and siblings in Springfield and King of Prussia...but haven't lived in PA for a dog's age...even longer. And have never been to Longwood Gardens, so that's very exciting to anticipate....

Longwood is incredible! I think Chadds Ford would be a lovely place for a quiet vacation If you like wine at all, stop at the Chadds Ford winery. And the Brandywine River Museum is worth the trip as well.
